SKILLBRIDGE aims to strengthen the connection between education, innovation and workforce development by helping organisations anticipate future skills needs and respond through practical action.
This section presents selected indicators, achievements and examples of progress across the project, including skills intelligence activities, curriculum modernisation efforts, stakeholder engagement, mobility initiatives and alliance development.
Examples of Early Progress
Within the first year of implementation, SKILLBRIDGE has already established key foundations for future impact.
Highlights include:
- Validation of a common capability framework covering 4 Strategic Domains, 25 Capability Areas and 100 future-oriented skills;
- Analysis of 120+ stakeholder interviews, 25 best-practice cases, 140+ reports and evidence sources, and 40+ education and training programmes across partner countries;
- Identification and consolidation of 300+ critical issues into a set of transformation priorities informing future educational and workforce development activities;
- Development of the SKILLBRIDGE Skills Observatory and supporting methodologies for skills intelligence, capability assessment and transformation planning;
- Delivery of 15 curriculum modernisation workshops involving higher education institutions, vocational education providers and industry representatives across the five participating countries;
- Engagement of educators, enterprises, innovation actors and policymakers in the identification of emerging skills needs and future workforce priorities;
- Dissemination of project results and methodologies through European and international conferences, workshops, stakeholder events and policy dialogues;
Creation of the foundations for long-term collaboration through the emerging Centres for Foresight and Innovation (CFIs) and the Skills4Innovation Alliance (S4IA).
